Getting on the road from Naples Airport
The airport is located approximately 6 km north of Naples city centre. From the rental car exit, the Tangenziale di Napoli ring road provides access to all major routes out of the city. For the Amalfi Coast, follow the A3 motorway southbound toward Salerno and exit for Vietri sul Mare, from where the SS163 coastal road begins. For Pompeii, take the A3 south and exit at Pompei Ovest. For Caserta, head north on the A1. To avoid Naples city centre entirely, follow the Tangenziale eastbound or westbound without entering the urban core. This is strongly recommended, as traffic in central Naples is heavy and the ZTL zone restricts access in the historic area.
